Western
Samoan to prop Royal rugby
By Bernie Wijesekera
In 2005 Royal College rugby hit a new low. Beaten
by Trinity after four years of dominating the Bradby history the
Reid Avenue School were outplayed and outclassed in both legs.
The Chairman of the Royal College Rugby Committee
C.R. de Silva – a leading light in the official Bat got the
act-together.
They have got the services of an international
class western Samoan coach Pa Enari. He is a Level III (New Zealand)
and Level II (Australian Rugby Board). Pa will coach them in the
coming season. Strongly built Enari has been coaching with much
success since 1986.
Pa Enari, a high performance unit coach is here
on a one year contract. Nizam Jamaldeen, will assist Enari.
But this is his first assignment in Sri Lanka
he said. ‘The boys are keen to learn and listen and I am happy
to coach them. Royal rugby has a rich rugby heritage I’ll
be here for the entire season. At the end of September I will plan
an infrastructure for next year at grassroots level.
