Star studded TCTC from June 24

Sri Lanka’s Davis Cup players will be on show at the Colombo Tennis Championships which will be held at the Sri Lanka Tennis Association (SLTA) courts, from June 24 to July 9. The Colombo Tennis Championships is a top tournament and is considered only second in importance to the National Championships of Sri Lanka. This tournament has a proud history of 91 years.

The tournament was advanced by ten days to ensure that the Lankan Davis Cup squad players can participate before they depart to the Philippines for the Davis Cup tournament. Rohan De Silva, the reigning champion and Rajeev Rajapakse have already confirmed their participation, while Harshana Godamanne and Amrith Rupasinghe who are in training in Thailand are yet to confirm.

Altogether there will be 29 events, which would consist of the open, junior and senior events. Last year there were more than 400 entries.

The tournament sponsors are Lenovo, Horizon Real Estate Property Developers, Hanjin Shipping, Colonial Group of Companies, DHL, and Metropolitan Group of Companies.
