Kangaroo
Kangaroo is the common name for a group of mammals
found in Australia and neighbouring islands. Kangaroos are marsupials,
a type of mammal that gives birth to undeveloped young.
In kangaroos and many other marsupials, the young
are carried and nurtured in a special pouch on the mother's body.
More than 50 different kinds of animals are grouped
together in two kangaroo families. The large kangaroos include red
kangaroos and grey kangaroos, wallabies, pademelons and quokka;
they belong in the family macropodidae
The other family, potoroidae, is made up of assorted
smaller species such as various rat-kangaroos, bettongs and potoroos
Kangaroos are found only in mainland Australia
and New Guinea and in some parts of their offshore islands, such
as Tasmania. Fossil evidence shows that the first kangaroo appeared
in Australia about 15 million years ago, during the Miocene Epoch.

Poson
Long
time ago there was a king called King Devanampiyatissa. He loved
to hunt. So one day he went out hunting. He looked all over for
an animal to shoot, but there were none in sight. He looked in farms,
ponds, jungles, houses and holes. Still there was a deer. He prepared
to shoot it. He shot an arrow at it, but missed it. Suddenly, the
king heard a voice behind him.
"Tissa! Don't kill it! Stop! Please!"
the voice said. Turning around the king saw that it was the Mihindu
Hamuduruvo. They took him to their temple. So, from that day on,
he lay down his bow and arrow and accepted Buddhism.

Learning to lose
We all like to win and also like to be first in
whatever we do. Winning is a sign of success. So everybody likes
to win. While we try to win, we have to learn to lose too. Because
losing is also a good lesson to us. Once we lose, it gives us enough
courage to try until we win. Although everybody cannot be first,
we have to do our very best. We should never get angry when we lose.
While we are losing, every time we have to encourage ourselves.
Then we can be winners.

Hope
Let's all live in peace and hope,
Never shed a tear or mope.
There may be things you can't cope
With, but never shed a tear or mope.
In every moment of pitch darkness,
There is sure to be a ray of hope.
Even when you encounter sadness,
Always say a prayer of hope.
The white dove flying gracefully,
Is the symbol of peace, love and hope,
Let's all take moments of grief cheerfully,
For in every dark place there is a ray of hope!
