Pugilists from Seevali MMV Ratnapura came on top at the end of the third day's proceedings of the L.V. Jayaweera Memorial Trophy boxing meet conducted at the Royal College boxing ring in Reid Avenue yesterday.

The boxers to advance to the semi finals were:

Light Flyweight 'B' 44-46 kgs T. Imran of Arethusa, S.M. Jayatissa of Pannal NS, A.A. Vidanage of Seevali MMV and K.P. Madushan of Medankara MV Flyweight 'B' 46-48kgs - S.M. The semi finals were in progress and the meet will come to an end today with the first bout scheduled to get underway at 5.00 p.m. Dian Gomes, President of the Amatuer Boxing Association will be the chief guest at the awards ceremony due to be held today evening.-MSA
