Not diplomatic
LTTE spokesman Daya Master was the talk of the
town last week with him coming to Colombo for medical treatment.
During the Cabinet press briefing on Thursday Government spokesman
Anura Priyadharshana Yapa was asked if he was not planning to pay
a visit to ‘master’ who was staying in a hospital in
close proximity to his Ministry.
“It won’t be right to disturb ailing
persons,” was his diplomatic answer.
Wrong day!
Members of the National Movement against Terrorism
held a demonstration of Friday to urge western nations to take sterner
action against the LTTE. They went to the French Embassy in Colombo
to hand over a petition urging such action only to find the Embassy
closed. It happened to be the French National Day so the protesters
had to go away with petition in hand.
