Cleland Wildlif Park - Adelaide, Australia
During March we travelled to Australia. Not two
weeks went by when the news about Cleland Park, an animal haven
in Adelaide came. Since it was so popular, I decided to go.

This place is amazing. Once you set foot in this
park, you are stunned. You turn speechless at the sight of this
wondrous place. All Australian marsupials, Kangaroos, Koalas, Wallabies,
Bettongs, Rainbow Lorikeets, Emus, Dingos, Kookaburras, Wombats,
Tasmanian Devils, Echidras are all seen here. This park, unlike
others, lets you feed all animals except koalas and they also let
you take home photographs of you carrying a koala! It is an amazing
experience!
Here are some facts about the wild life in the
park. This interview was held with Park Ranger, Sandra Feelds. She
was happy to give us this information.
“Koalas are 28 - 30 inches in length and
11 - 14 pounds in weight. They eat only one type of Eucalyptus (gum)
leaves out of the 350 different varieties. They have thick, woolly
coats, stout feet and three fingers. They sleep up to 18 - 20 hours
per day. They are endangered.

There are two types of kangaroos. The red and the
grey. We have both in the park. They have different weights and
heights. They have superb balance and speed. They are herbivorous
mammals.
Wombats of course are extremely rare! They are
short, coarse haired, buck-toothed animals. They are 36 - 45 inches
in length and 36 - 48 pounds in weight. They live in caves.

Gray Kangaroo |
Cassowaries are black birds with blue necks, quite
like emus. The tasmanian Devil lives mostly in caves. They are like
small dogs, black with a white bib. They are carnivores.”
There are more animals in the park. You can amuse
yourself for hours. There is also a special building that has been
reserved for local and international reptiles. So if you get a chance
to visit Adelaide, Australia, this is a must-see!
