Basil in Batticaloa with ‘Jathika Saviya’

President’s senior Advisor Basil Rajapaksa chaired a meeting at the Batticaloa Divisional Secretary’s office yesterday on matters relating to developing roads, electricity, water and the transporting of fish to Colombo.

The meeting was held under the ‘Jathika Saviya’ programme under President Rajapaksa’s directions, aimed at improving living conditions of those in the Northern and Eastern Provinces. It also looks at improving security measures for the villagers in these areas.

Yesterday’s meeting was attended by Ministers and government and opposition MPs including the TNA. North-East Governor Mohan Wijewickrama too was present.

Similar meetings were held in Vavuniya and Trincomalee earlier.
