District convention of Jehovah’s
Witnesses
Starting this weekend and continuing over the
next three weeks, Jehovah’s Witnesses will launch an intensive
campaign to extend a personal invitation to everyone to attend the
2006 ‘Deliverance at hand!’ district convention.
The Witnesses plan to provide each household with
the specially printed invitation that gives information about the
three-day event being held at Premadasa Stadium beginning August
3 at 9.30 a.m. Admission to the convention is free and no collections
will be taken.
This massive volunteer effort to invite people
to this and similar conventions will take place not only in Colombo,
but around the world. The area’s 70 Witness congregations
are taking part in a global campaign to advertise the ‘Deliverance
at hand!’ convention programmes that will be held in 155 lands.
At these conventions, people will have the opportunity
of hearing a message of comfort and hope. The Witnesses in Colombo
expect a record turnout for the convention at the Premadasa Stadium.
