Schaffters
take over Tamil Union
Double – International at cricket and hockey,
Old Thomian Chandra Schaffter was elected president of the Tamil
Union C and AC, after the much talked about contest.
It was held (on July 28, Friday). Apparently it

Perumal. Chandra earlier was president in 1986-88. Then in 1997
he came back to hold the reins. His son Prakash was his secretary
in 1997 too. Prakash, is back again to pair off with his father
for the ensuring year.
Old Royalist T. Nirmalalingam is the deputy president.
Jerome Chanmugam is the treasurer. Spin wizard M. Muralitharan,
heads the committee with 157 votes.
