
Mobile phone talk costs female her life

Talking on a mobile phone while walking along
the railway line cost a twenty-year-old female from Walapane her
life.
The deceased Shyamali Priangika had been walking
along the railway near the Mulgampola signals while speaking over
her cellular phone when the train proceeding to Colombo had knocked
her down.
Witnesses told the inquirer that some of them
had shouted to her of the on coming train, but she had not appeared
to have heard their warnings.

S. Piyatilleke returned a verdict of accidental death. Police Sgt
S. George of Kandy Minor Offences Branch conducted the inquiry.
