SLI to build two more repair centres
The Sri Lanka Insurance (SLIC) is planning two
more state of the art road side assistance repair centres in Kandy
and the south this year, on the back of the Seeduwa centre which
it launched recently.
Suren Galagoda – Chief Operating Officer,
Technical, Sri Lanka Insurance said the company’s new venture
is a first ever concept in the local market where vehicles will
be repaired according to manufacture specifications. “We are
planning two more centres in the South and Kandy,” he said.
He said that these centres are specifically for
Sri Lanka Insurance (SLI) Formula Plus Motor Insurance policy holders,
and all other vehicle owners who have a comprehensive insurance
cover for their private and business motor car or van, who seek
motor insurance.
“Fast settlement of claims is good, but
then it is not the ultimate solution – the final requirement
is repairing the vehicle after the accident,” he said, adding
that this service is free of charge and the vehicle will also be
delivered free of charge.
He said the centre cost Rs 350 million and can
repair 300 vehicles at a given time. “With the new facility,
things such as estimates after an accident, insurance approval and
after repair inspection by an insurance company are eliminated,”
he explained.
Sri Lanka Insurance is the largest and financially
strongest insurer in the country today, and as an industry leader
it has taken steps to come up with this initiative, to further add
value services and benefits to their Formula Plus customers.
