Ceylinco Life presents unique '65-Plus' cover to
50 more policyholders
Life can begin even at 65, an age when most people
are retired from active life, a group of senior policyholders of
Ceylinco Life discovered recently.
The market leader in life insurance presented
50 policyholders whose life policies had completed 10 years or more,
with '65-Plus' the only critical illness insurance cover in Sri
Lanka for people over the age of 65. These policies, which would
be valid for the rest of the recipients' lives, provide cover against
20 critical illnesses from the point each of them turns 65.
“Interestingly, this 65th birthday gift
presented in advance by Ceylinco Life came absolutely free of charge,
with no strings attached,” the company said. At a presentation
ceremony organised by Ceylinco Life, each of the recipients of this
benefit were presented with a '65-Plus' Card and a voucher worth
Rs 1000 from the Ceylinco Healthcare Centre.
Ceylinco Life Director Thushara Ranasinghe said,
"Sri Lanka's population is ageing rapidly, and only a small
percentage is covered by pension schemes. This means that the burden
on the state healthcare system is going to become heavier.
The cost of private medicare is also rising at
an alarming rate. We believe that 65-Plus will help our loyal policyholders
meet medical expenses at a critical time."
The 65-Plus scheme, which is the only one of its
kind in the local insurance industry, is one of the elements of
Ceylinco Life's 'Life Rewards,' a portfolio of special benefits
that only the company's active policyholders are eligible to receive.
