Vidura wins
USA National Target Archery Champs
Sri Lankan born Vidura Rajapaksa won the Championship
in the Under 12 age group at the 122nd USA National Target Archery
Championship held last week in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
More
than 450 athletes took part at the National Target championships,
which included Olympians, Paralympians, World Champions, United
States Archery Team (USAT) members, world record holders, top junior
archers and international archers from Bolivia, Canada, Chinese
Taipei, Denmark, Dominican Republic, Mexico, Philippines, Puerto
Rico and South Africa.
In addition to the National Championship, the
former Anandian has dominated all archery tournaments in the East
Coast States of USA including the Mid Atlantic Archery Championships,
where he broke the tournament record in the 30 meter distance.
Considered one of the top junior archers in USA,
Vidura is coached by former Olympic coach Len Cardinale and is a
member of the Waxobe Archery Club of New Jersey.
