Kumar Boralessa captains Millennium Trophy

Reliable reports have it that Kumar Boralessa recently had his ‘ticker’ adjusted and serviced in a renowned clinic in the United Kingdom. Undoubtedly, the adjustment has been exceptionally successful and the pleasing result is that he is striking the ball with hellish vengeance. Over the week-end he was excellent. Playing off twelve on the first day, he struck nett 67. His handicap was lowered to 10 and then on Sunday to prove it was no fluke or flash in the pan, he struck a par round. His total for the 2 days was 138 which is 4 under par. He was punished further with a cut of 1 strike and he is now a single figure played on 9 – a dream come true. His playing partners volunteered that off the tee he was absolutely stunning and his approach shots were sure and accurate. He captured the Millennium Trophy and celebrated lustily at his Longden Place residence.

Coming behind was Murad Ismail with splendid rounds of 69 and 70 and Mithun Perera was at his brilliant best with gross scores of 69 and 68.

Others who played impressively on the first day were Doc. Thurairaja 69, Gong Fent 69, L. D. Ramanayake 70 and Arjun Fernando 70.
