The company headed by a Japanese expert Masahiro
Yoshida, a mechanical engineer by profession. From its inception
the company has set a motto as “Quality is Trust” to
manufacture quality products whilst maintaining the environment
properly with the support of all employees to meet the requirements
of the valued customers, he said. Quality and environment has been
foremost in the minds of this manufacturing firm and with the support
and blessings of its parent company – the Uchihashi Group
based in Japan -, the Sri Lankan branch at Pallekelle decided to
achieve international certification status on quality and environment
and worked towards that goal a few years back.
This year they achieved success in obtaining both
the ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 from the Sri lanka Standards Institution
which carries out vigorous tests over a period of time before awarding
those certifications.
By receiving these quality and environment certifications,
Uchihashi Lanka (PVT) Ltd became the first firm from the BOI Pallekelle
to receive these certifications from the SLSI, according to its
Manager Administration Athula Gunasekara.
