Body of abducted manager found in Thotalanga
The body of a manager of a private company, who
was abducted by an unidentified group, was found dumped in Thotalanga
last morning, police said.
They said the victim identified as Reginald Jesudasan,
31, had been severely assaulted and his body had been wrapped up
to his knees with polyethylene. Mr. Jesudasan’s father, a
retired police inspector, told The Sunday Times, that his son did
not return to his house at Mabole, Wattala, after he left his office
at Kollupitiya around 7.30 p.m. on Friday and he was informed about
the discovery of the body yesterday morning.
Police said, they were investigating the crime
and they had no clue as to who had killed Mr. Jesudasan.
Meanwhile, police inquiring into the abduction
of Logenthirajah Komathy, a former finance director of Aero Lanka
Private Ltd, said, they were yet to make any breakthrough in their
investigations.
A gang which came in a white van stormed into
her residence in Ratmalana and assaulted her before they abducted
her. They also took away some files and a laptop computer from her
residence. Two of Ms. Komathy’s relatives, a woman who had
been employed in Ameri Lanka Private Ltd, a sister company of the
Aero Lanka Private Ltd, and her husband, were also abducted on the
same day.
Meanwhile, an LTTE informant was shot dead last
night around 7.30 at Chithra Lane in Colombo, Narahenpita police
said.
The victim, identified as Maniam, was going to
a shop to buy a bottle of soft drink when he was shot dead by a
lone gunman, police said.
