FCCISL President in UN delegation

Nawaz Rajabdeen, President of the Federation of Commerce and Industry of Sri Lanka (FCCISL) left to New York to join the Presidential Delegation at the UN.

The chamber said he would attend the “Development and Peacemaking. Challenges in Sri Lanka” a speech by President Mahinda Rajapaksa at a separate New York event.

Rajabdeen is also visiting Washington to meet officials from the Millennium Challenge (MCC) to discuss proposals submitted by the FCCISL on SME development in the rural sector. This is the first time private sector participation has been included in Sri Lanka’s UN delegation.
