Its aim is to provide opportunities
for the young cricketers to develop their talents and
then in return give back their talent back to the club.
According to Opatha this academy will
be in the lines of the nursery to the Moors Sports Club
and all students as they automatically will become members
of the club. In a bid to bring more authenticity to
his efforts he also has invited The former presidents
of the BCCSL Ana Punchihewa, Mohan de Silva along with
cricketers Aravinda de Silva, Hashan Tillekeratne and
Sidath Wettimuny to act as Cricket Ambassadors to advice
for the betterment of the Academy.
The coaching team of the cademy will
be Tony Opatha, Lanthra Fernando, S.K. Paranavithana,
Luxman Ranasinghe and Manjula Rajakumara.
