Summit 2007
The Food Safety Summit 2007 is being
organized by the Sri Lanka Association for Quality (SLAQ)
food interest group and is scheduled for early 2007.
It is focused on reviewing the present
state of food safety issues and reach a consensus in
developing a national strategy to cope with present
as well as potential future developments in food safety.
This will assist in preventing the
food industry being caught unawares and cause confusion
resulting in great losses to the industry, the SLAQ
said.
It said efforts are made to make this
summit a truly a national event by working with state
organisations as well as testing and research organisations,
accreditation boards and certification bodies professional
bodies and association in the food related areas so
that the overall implementation process will become
easy and acceptable to all sectors. More information
