Emirates increases services to Sri Lanka

Emirates is increasing its frequencies between Colombo and Dubai by four a week from October 29, bringing about seat and cargo capacity enhancements on the route, the airline said.

The airline currently operates 13 services a week between its home base and Colombo, and the additional flights, which will increase services to 17-per-week, will be a boon to the island's tourism industry in the 2006-07 winter season.

Every Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday starting October 29, 2006, Emirates' flight EK558 currently operating on the Dubai-Male-Colombo route will be extended to Dubai, to operate as Dubai-Male-Colombo-Dubai, providing four additional outbound flights.

Similarly, completing the inbound circle, Emirates' flight EK 559 currently operating on the Colombo-Male-Dubai route will originate from Dubai and operate as Dubai-Colombo-Male-Dubai, on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays, resulting in four additional incoming flights.
