band will be in the middle of a World Tour which begins
next month with a 23-show swing through the UK - all

his concert is one of the most eagerly anticipated events
in the region.
Sir Cliff who turns 66 on October
14, last toured in 2003. However, he has been involved
in several major events, mostly in the UK, to keep himself
in form.
In between, he spends a lot of time
in his holiday home in Barbados, in the Caribbean, in
addition to his other passion, an award winning winery
on a fairly large farm in Portugal.
Sir Cliff marks the 50th anniversary
of his first-ever hit, Move It, in 2008!
According to a statement released
by his management, The Cliff Richard Organisation, the
23-concert tour, which begins on November 4 with a five-show
season at the giant Wembley Stadium, was sold out several
weeks ago.
He then embarks on a nine-concert
tour of the Middle East and Asia, starting on February
2 in Dubai, followed by shows in Hong Kong, (Feb 5),
Bangkok (Feb 7), Kuala Lumpur (Feb 9 and 10), Singapore
(Feb 11), Manila (Feb 13), Tokyo (Feb 15) followed by
his appearance in Colombo.

couple of performances in South Africa before he winds
up his long tour with 10 shows in Europe, taking in
Finland, Norway, France, Belgium, Holland, Iceland,
Denmark and Germany - the last two countries staging
two concerts each.
The Colombo concert is handled by
Damayantha Kuruppu along with prominent show-biz personality
Vijaya Corea who, through his connections with major

helped clinch the concert deal.
The Sunday Times understands that
tickets for the Colombo concert are expected to be available
to the public from December 1.
