CCC prepares
to explore South African market
The Ceylon Chamber of Commerce, following
successful business exploratory tours to Myanmar and
Vietnam, is now eyeing South Africa as a potential business
partner.

The CCC Trade Fair Unit is already
spearheading a business mission in South Africa from
October 7 – 13. This coincided with the Annual
International Trade Fair ‘SAITEX’ held in
Johannesburg. The delegation was offered the opportunity
of meeting with the business community in Durban and
Johannesburg and was also stopping over in Dubai to
meet with the Dubai business community. The delegation
to Vietnam was led by P S P Perera, Director Hayleys
Limited and assisted by Puvi Domingopillai, Senior Assistant
Secretary General, Meanwhile the delegation had the
opportunity of meeting with the Vietnamese business
community on one-on-one basis through the kind courtesy
of the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry and
Vietnam Union of Friendship Organisation (VUFO).
Domingopillai said that 90 percent
of the delegation was happy with the contacts and since
it was also considered as a fact finding mission, the
delegates were able to gather some useful business information
such as regulations on setting up factories in Vietnam,
tax incentives, trade regulations etc.
