‘Santhuwaranaya’ : A story of sacrifice

Director Bermin Lylie Fernando's latest telefilm "Santhuwaranaya" (The Sacrifice), a miniplay revolving around a theme of sacrifices made by people that brings success is telecast every Monday and Tuesday at 9 pm on Swarnavahini channel.
Geenath joins the government sector as a young engineer. He was a very strict yet an honest officer. He notices that his subordinate young Shanuky takes leave regularly. At first he expresses his objection.

Shanuky's sister Senuri gets seriously ill on her wedding day. She is rushed to hospital and admitted. The doctors discover that her kidneys were very badly affected and inform her that she needs an immediate operation.

Shanuky's father Wimalasena is a retired teacher. Senuri's boyfriend left her after coming to know about her illness and he runs away with the dowry which had already been given. Due to the illness Shanuky had to spend most of her time with her sister. But her boss, Geenath who is unaware about the dilemma in Shanuky's family expresses her dissatisfaction on her failure to discharge her duties properly.

Her father, Wimalasena is trying his best to obtain help from the government to do the surgery soon. Since the operation has to take place immediately they decides to take her to India. Shanuky's boss comes to know about the situation and decide to help her.

Geenath's first love started when he was in the university. That was to Tania. But no sooner he expresse his love she refuses it outright. In fact she complains against him to her parents.

Ranjan Ramanayake, Anarkalee Akarsha, Asitha Abeywardena, Jayantha Ketagoda, G. R. Perera, Dilani Nikaahetiya, Udayanthika Niroshika, Suramya Suwarnika, Nayana Rambukkana, Dayananda Jayawardena, Vinoja Nilanthi and Lucky Ratnayake.

Bandula Cooray handled the camera and K. B. Herath wrote the script. To the lyrics of Sydney Marcus Dias, Gunadasa Kapuge had sung the playback song.
