Viennese cellist here

'Romantic Music from Vienna' featuring renowned cellist Yvonne Timoianu will be presented by the Austrian Consulate on November 6 at 7 p.m. at the Lionel Wendt. The Austrian artist of Romanian extraction will be accompanied by former Austrian Ambassador to Sri Lanka, Christoph Cornaro.

Born in Bucharest, Romania, Yvonne began music at the age of five. She studied at the Conservatory 'George Enescu' and at the College of Music 'Ciprian Porumbescu' and by age 16 was on stage with Saint-Saens Cello concerto op.33. Thereafter fleeing from the Ceausescu dictatorship, she took up residence in Salzburg where she received a further diploma with high honours (Mozarteum).
