Central Province win Asiad trial

Central Province under 19 outfit lead by Trinitian Sean Wanigasekera beat Western province team lead by Petrite skipper Haren Ariyawardena by 20 points (4 Tries) to 10 Points (2 Tries) at the Royal Sports Complex yesterday in one of the practice games in order to select the Junior Asiad rugby team.

At the short breather the winners led 10-5.

The other team participating is Southern Province. The Junior Asiad will kick off in Chinese Taipei in December this year. A pool of 40 players will be selected by tomorrow and the final squad will consist of 23 players. Peterite coach Sanath Martis will handle the side.
