Coffee morning for Bloemendhal

The Bloemendhal Development Society will hold a coffee morning 'Towards a Better Tomorrow' on Sunday, November 26 at the Galadari Hotel from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

A fashion show, cookery demonstration, flower arrangements, hair and beauty demonstrations, drama skit, entertainment and trade stalls are on the programme. The coffee morning is a fund raiser for the shanty dwellers of Bloemendhal. The Bloemendhal Development Society was formed in the late 70's by a group of individuals who joined the Good Shepherd Sisters to serve the people of this community. In the early years, the community of Bloemendhal in Holland funded this society, enabling them to build a community service centre called "Kusum Sevena".

They have also organised organized women's groups, community development projects, savings groups, crèche facilities, and youth projects and also help during times of need like floods with repairs to affected houses.
