Indians win at Hockey

The touring Indian Army hockey team led by M. Rao beat Matale Hockey Association team by 5 goals to nil in an exhibition hockey fixture played at the Nandimitra Ekanayake Astro turf- Matale on Saturday November 11th.

At half time Indian Army led 3-0 A.K. Majgi scored two goals in quick succession in the 5th and 10th minute while S.V. Sunil netted the third goal in the 13th minute of play to lead by 3-0 at the breather. In the second half Chandrasekar Xalxo added two more goals to their first half tally to register a 5-0 win.

Indrawansa Herath and Indika Jayawardana controlled the match. - LDC
