Nirmal to manage Asian Golf team

Former Royalist Nirmal Hettiarachchi of cricketing fame now turned golfer will manage the four –member golf team for the Asian Games 2006 in Doha, Qatar.

The national team will be led by K. Prabagaran and will include reigning open champion Mithun Perera, Amit de Soysa and Tissa Chandradasa.

According to Golf Union sources the government/the National Olympic Cimmittee has given them only the tickets. The team has been hard at training. It will give an opportunity to young Mithun Perera how well he will fare on foreign courses.
