‘Sulanga’ out as a DVD

Benette Ratnayake's internationally acclaimed 'Sulanga' is out as a DVD and VCD.
Produced and digitally mastered by Torana Home Video, the 113 minute film with English subtitles is distributed by Torana Music Box.
The film revolving around four women from different social strata and a professor won Silver Remi award at 39th Houston International Film Festival-2006.
The film competed at the 39th Indian Film Festival, Dhaka International Film Festival and screened at number of International film festivals including Cairo IFF, Calcutta IFF, Kerala IFF Montrial IFF in Canada, Janeiro IFF in Brazil and Asia Pacific IFF in Berlin and Cleveland IFF in America.
Sulanga is the second direction of Benette Ratnayake who directed both the locally and internationally awarded 'Aswesuma' (The Compensation).
The cast comprise Sanath Gunathilake, Dilhani Ekanayake, Chandani Seneviratne, Palitha Silva, Sathya Erandathi Ratnayake, Sriyani Amerasena, Roger Seneviratne, Rangana Premaratne, and Udara Ratnayake.
In the technical crew, B. Vishwanath is the cinematographer while Lal Herendranath-art director, Ravindra Guruge- editor and Ranjith Wickremasinghe is the make up artiste. Music directed by Rohana Weerasinghe, Sulanga is produced by Samanmalee Hewamanne, Deewan Beruwalage and Benette Ratnayake |
