ACCA’s Sustainability Reporting awards in March

The Sustainability Reporting Awards under the aegis of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) will hold its Sri Lankan awards on March 22, the local ACCA office said.

This year, the awards category in Sri Lanka has been expanded to encompass organisations in the small, medium and large categories to give more scope for companies to apply for the awards.

Last year’s winners in Sri Lanka, Diesel & Motor Engineering Company Limited (DIMO) and John Keells Holdings both proved that Sri Lanka firmly believes in transparency, accountability and sincerity of action when it was judged against the internationally detailed criteria which saw global corporate captains like BT and Anglo American win in the UK awards and Nike and HP being awarded the Sustainability Reporting Awards in the USA. ACCA has been involved in the sustainability and reporting debate since 1990, having pioneered the awards. ACCA conducts extensive research on the related subjects and has formulated a dedicated Social and Environmental Committee as well.
