Clues to future CB interest

The Central Bank in Tuesday’s enunciation of monetary and fiscal policies for 2007 will provide some clues to interest and exchange rates movements in relation to economic growth. “There won’t be rates given but some indication where the shifts and changes would be in line with economic policy,” said Governor Nivard Cabraal adding that it would be good for planning purposes.
The Bank is scheduled to hold a press conference on Tuesday to announce its policies for next year and beyond. Key on the agenda would be interest rates, exchange rates and inflation-curbing measures.
