A group of ITN Viwers of Colombo write.....

We are followers of musical programmes shown in every local TV channel and the Seasonal Pops programme televised on ITN on the night of December 25 was a pathetic one to watch.

The programme compeered by none other than Faizal Bongso, who is one of the leading in this field should also take the blame for this pathetic scene which sometimes even he would have not noticed.

ITN has made great efforts to become one of the popular local channels which is appreciated by the masses but if they are going to televise a programme with mistakes that happened on this particular programme we are sure they are going to be a laughing stock.

Being a Christmas night with so many programmes shown in all the channels we were not fortunate to see the said programme from its inception but began watching since Anil Bharathi came into the stage of which, we noticed the singers name was not correctly spelt which we also thought must have been a genuine mistake.

But alas it continued and we were inquisitive to see how the names of the other singers are going to be spelt.

Wow it was terrible it was actually a clean insult of these popular singers of whom some has done yeoman service to the music arena in Sri Lanka for over three to four decades. If we were able to make a contact with any of these presenters of the programme we would have done, to stop the rubbish that was show on a blue line below with white letters.

The last conclusion we had to come was that the job is done by an incompetent person who should have not been given this assignment. Here below we show how the names were spelt and majority of these singers are in the field as we said, for a good number of decades.

What a pity ITN please do think that there are some masses, they not only enjoy the songs shown they also see of the mistakes mentioned.

Over to you readers spell the correct names of the singers mentioned below by yourself and ITN we hope a repeat would not happen in the future.
