CSE at all time high

Price indices of the Colombo Stock Exchange (CSE) reached record levels on Friday. The main price index, the All Share Price Index (ASPI) closed the day at 2,810.3 points, surpassing its previous record of 2,789.8 points recorded on December 1, 2006.

The ASPI which opened the day at 2,766.5 closed at 2,810.3 moving up by 43.8 points (1.58 %). The Milanka Price Index (MPI) also reached its highest ever point of 3,878.1 at the end of trading today moving up by 80.9 points (2.1 %) during the day. At the close of trading, the market capitalization of the CSE surpassed all previous levels to reach an all time high of Rs 861.79 billion. The previous record was Rs 855.36 billion recorded on December 1 last year.
