Cliff tour is on

Cliff Richard, who is billed to perform in Colombo on February 23 at the Exhibition and Convention Centre, started his Asian leg of World Tour last week in Dubai.
He started his 2006 world tour, promoting his new album 'Two's Company'' in Cardiff, Birmingham, Nottingham, Sheffield, Manchester, Newcastle, Glasgow, Belfast and Dublin in United Kingdom, before he started his Asian tour in early January.
He performed in Dubai on January 26 and he will come alive in Hong Kong on Monday, February 5. 'Cliff Live in Concert' will be held in Bangkok on Wednesday, February 7, in Kuala Lumpur on February 10 and in Singapore on February 11.
Cliff Show will come alive in Manila on February 13 and in Yokohama in Japan on February 18. He will be in Colombo on late night on February 19.
Sir Cliff will spend nearly six days in Sri Lanka, before he flies to Male on Monday, February 26.
Cliff’s 25 member team will include ten engineers, other technical members and group of musicians and backup singers.
According to Damayantha Kuruppu, the man behind the Colombo Concert, he will be bringing 655 of the sound equipment including the latest colour web and the snow machine.
Cliff will join the popular Tea Trail like his colleague, Paul Simon did in last year, which Sunday Times reported exclusively.
He will not be in Kandy as we reported earlier, but will be in a Galle for a short trip, if time permits him, said his media manager.
'He will sing most of his old songs as he has checked the Asian pulses. Also he will sing a few duets from his new album 'Two's Company', which released late last year.
'Two's Company' comprises 14 songs - single '21st Century Christmas Song / Move it' with Brian Bennett and Brian May of Queen fame, 'Any One Who Had a Heart'- with Dionne Warwick, 'Miss You Nights' -with G$, 'Yesterday Once More'- with Daniel O'Donnell, 'She Means Nothing to Me'- with Phil Everly, 'All I Ask Of You'-with Sarah Brightman, 'Let There be Love - with Matt Monro, 'Throw Down a Line'- Hank Marvin, 'Fields of Gold- with Barry Gibb, 'Up Where We Belong'- with Ann Murray, 'Slow Rivers' - with Elton John, 'Suddenly'- with Olivia Newton John, 'Canny Boy' - with Helmut Lotti and 'Reunited' - with Lulu.
Cliff was featured at the Wembley Arena in England from November 4 to 9 as part of his 'Here & Now' national arena tour. The audience at Wembley Arena on 8 November had a big surprise when, after the end of the show, Cliff returned to the stage - along with Brian Bennett and Brian May of Queen fame to perform his new version of song 'Move It' which was being filmed for the promotional video.
Tickets for the 'Cliff Concert in Colombo' are ranging from Rs. 3500/- to Rs. 25,000/.
