Over 80 ComBank branches open even on bank holidays

The Commercial Bank of Ceylon will keep over 80 of its branches open on public and bank holidays during the year to better serve the public, especially the mercantile sector which works on these days.

For a start, all Commercial Bank branches in the Colombo and Gampaha districts and those at Akuressa, Anuradhapura, Dambulla, Galewela, Hingurakgoda, Kandy, Kekirawa and Kuliyapitiya were kept open from 9:00 am to 1:30 pm on Mahasivarathri Day falling on February 16.

Thereafter, these branches would also be open on Good Friday (April 6), Deepavali (November 8) and Id-ul-Alha [Hadji] (December 21) even though these are designated as bank holidays.

In addition to these all 17 Supermarket Counters and the four 365-day Holiday Banking Centres at Colombo 7, Negombo, Galle City and Ampara will be kept open as usual, the bank said this week.
