Information Security on the agenda for leading enterprises in Sri Lanka
Frost & Sullivan is organising a conference on ‘Emerging Paradigms on Information Security,’ on February 21 in Colombo.
With increasing focus on endpoint security in the industry, vendors are forming strategic partnerships to provide an admission control solution to end users for protection against threats coming from compromised endpoint terminals.
Vendors are widening their solution portfolio to include endpoint, application and content security) and secured access so as to provide comprehensive security to different areas of the enterprise network. Major players in this arena are in a strong position to leverage their strength in networking infrastructure by bundling security together with infrastructure products.
"Frost & Sullivan perceives a dynamic evolution of security technologies and practices and hence there is a need for business and technology leaders to stay abreast of the latest developments in this area. According to a recent study, Sri Lankan enterprises' awareness of security and their investments is expected to rise. Companies are increasingly realizing that just peripheral security is not enough to meet the threats and are planning to adopt an integrated approach to manage intrusions and service availability,” says Dr. G. Mohan, Director, ICT Practice, Frost & Sullivan South Asia and Middle East.
The conference would articulate the stepping stones for enterprise security for new and prospective users; concurrently, it will have topics for advanced users on the advance management and security integration road map for the future. Touching on topics like Security Architecture and Endpoint security, Identity and Access Management, Unified Access Control Network, Cyber Security etc. the conference looks at educating the vendors as well as the end users. The conference is supported by Cisco and Sri Lanka Telecom as the Platinum Sponsors and by IBM, Juniper and Websense as Gold Sponsors. |
