Lanka home to Asia’s first medical mall
‘Thee Medical Mall,’ comes complete with a pharmacy, a nutritional gallery, a medical equipment showroom and a diabetic centre.
The pharmacy is not your regular pharmacy, a press release said adding that it comes complete with a drive-through counter which enables customers to purchase their requirements without leaving the comfort of their vehicles, an information kiosk providing information on health, drugs etc, a bulk order division where a team handling the orders promises to give the orders within 24 hours. The pharmacy also gives the customers a chance to deal directly with all leading insurance companies.
Sri Lanka is now home to Asia’s first medical mall which opened in Colombo yesterday.
“Thee Medical Mall” can be described as a one stop shop for all your healthcare requirements. Situated in Maradana, the facility is fully air-conditioned with state of the art facilities.
“We used the word THEE to emphasize that this is the only mall of its kind in Asia,” noted Ahamed Rheyas, Chairman of the Harcourts Group of Companies which is behind the new concept.

Housing all the nutraceuticals, food supplements and health supplements will be the nutritional gallery.
A counter will be dedicated exclusively to organic food and supplements while special emphasis will also be given to sports supplements so that sports and fitness enthusiasts are also looked after.
The gallery too will consist of an information kiosk manned by a qualified nutritionist providing information on alternative medicines, herbal remedies, vitamins and minerals, diet, chronic diseases and the like.
Diabetes being a very common disease in Sri Lanka, “Thee Medical Mall” has included a diabetic centre in their facility. The centre provides products for diabetic treatment and monitoring, accessories and special food for diabetic patients as well as information on the disease.
“Thee Medical Mall” also houses what is supposedly the country’s largest medical equipment showroom that promises to meet all kinds of demands of the customers’. They also have a delivery service where purchases will be delivered to the doorstep of the customer, a press release from Harcourts said.
