Quest for a cause

By Marisa de Silva

Talent Quest organised by the Leo Club of the American College of Higher Education District 306B2, a quest with a cause, will be held on May 5, from 7 p.m. onwards at the Navarangahala (Royal College premises).

In keeping with the two main objectives of the Leo movement, this event hopes to promote fresh young talent from across the island and give something back to the community. The proceeds of this show will be donated to 'Achievers' – a school for differently abled children.

This event will exclusively promote amateur performers between the ages of 13 and 28, thus giving them a platform to display their talents and gain the much-needed recognition and exposure they deserve. Having completed the audition stage last week, the top three performers from each of the five categories (Solo, Group, Band, Instrumental and Dance) will perform at the final next week. An overall trophy too will be awarded to the best performing school/college of the night.

Guest performances by the likes of Cynosure, Nadine Samarasinghe and Tyrant also are on the cards. Tickets will be available at the College (23, Hospital Road, Dehiwela) and at the entrance.
Main sponsors for the event are Regency Residencies and Caravan (refreshments).
