Nature

Studying nature is very interesting. Some of the natural non-living things are the sun, moon and stars. The sun is a huge star. It gives light to our Earth. We cannot live without the sun.
When the sun sets in the evening, the moon, gives light in the night to our Earth. The moon is a ball of rock and there is no atmosphere on the moon.
Human beings are divided into men and women. Some are fair while others are dark. Some are kind mannered while others are unkind. Animals live everywhere, even in our homes. There are three kinds of animals. They are herbivores, carnivores and omnivores. They are divided according to their food habits. We humans are omnivores as we eat both plants and animals.
All living things breathe air. They inhale oxygen and exhale carbon dioxide. Plants inhale carbon dioxide and exhale oxygen. Without air we cannot live.
Nature is the best wealth which man has. If we become a nature lover, we will become a lover of everything.

My pet dog Brownie

My pet dog's name is Brownie. It loves me very much. It likes to play with me. It is very fond of biscuits. I bring biscuits when I return from school for it. My mother feeds Brownie with rice and curry. It likes meat and fish.

It is very faithful. It barks and protects our house. Brownie is very helpful. I love my dog very much.

Uda Peradeniya

Uda Peradeniya is my village. It is a small village near Kandy. It has a temple, a kovil, a church, a school and shops. There is also a cooperative shop and a post office in the middle of the village.
There are paddy fields, rocks, a stream, coconut trees and fruit trees. There is a bridge across the stream. I walk on the bridge to go to school. There is a well near the paddy field. I bathe at the well on Saturday mornings.
My village is clean and green and beautiful. There are masons, carpenters, farmers and tailors in my village. Many people live in peace in my village. I love my village.

My hobby

I love stickers very much. As I am 5 ½ years old now, one day my mother told me that I can start collecting them. So from then on, sticker collecting became my hobby.
I collect all the stickers my parents buy me, and my friends give. I paste them in a sticker album. Still I only have a few stickers. But I hope to collect a lot more and have a big collection.
