All night long and more

A 21-hour Latino Carnival, the first official event in the Hilton Colombo’s 21 years celebration which will continue till August 2008 was held last Friday/Saturday.

It was a heady mix of samba, fashion and Latin rhythms that saw guests celebrating all night long. A combination of Samba and swimwear parades as well as sensational fashions on a catwalk over the pool… with Latin beats spun by two of India’s hottest DJ’s – Akshay and Lil’B – who were supported by Sri Lanka’s most popular DJ, Timmy guaranteed the success of the event. There were also fun-filled family events topped with sumptuous breakfast and brunch buffets, including two aerobic sessions on Saturday morning – aqua aerobics and Latin styled aerobics – and a family fashion show.

Commenting on the success of the Latino Carnival, the Hilton Colombo’s General Manager, William Costley, said the team had done everything in their power to not only satisfy but also to delight guests attending this first event in the 21 Years of Hilton Colombo celebration series. He added, “We are particularly pleased with this event’s success as it is an auspicious start to the celebrations we have planned throughout the coming year.”
