Dambulla ready for showdown  

International cricket is back at Dambulla after a lapse of nearly two years with the hosting of the three initial ODI’s against England in three day/night matches. The first of the matches will be on show tomorrow.

 
THE SPIRIT OF THE GAME

Sri Lanka who won ICC accolades for preserving the ‘spirit of the game” for their conduct on and off the field and especially their reactions to umpiring decisions takes on England in a five match ODI series. It was England who were bestowed with this honour when ICC met for the same task last year.

 
Memories of days gone by
For the first time in Sri Lanka, cricketers who represented the country in different eras got together at one venue. There was a good response. Quite naturally the majority were those who played more recently.
 
Lankan leads Kiwis to free fighting
They say ‘truth is stranger than fiction’. Such is the case in New Zealand where a Sri Lankan has the popular sport of mixed martial arts on fire with his online publication called RogueMag. This magazine has become the benchmark for top competitors as well as spectators.
