hSenid Software Intl goes to Kandy

hSenid, an Application and Service provider recently entered Kandy to start a research lab at the Peradeniya University. hSenid is the first Software company in the process of setting up their own Development centre in Peradeniya, a press release said. hSenid trains a chosen number of students from the Peradeniya University on all aspects of software development and assists them to develop applications. The research centre is in the process of developing mobile applications on Open Source platforms which will be deployed as Free and Open Source Software.

"In a professional field like engineering it is extremely important that the Faculties establish close relationships with the industry”, - says Professor Sarath Abayakoon, Dean of Engineering at University of Peradeniya. “This will not only ensure that the students will get to know the all important practical aspects, that they will encounter as a practicing engineer, but also helps the country by way of initiating and sustaining collaborative programmes appropriate for the national development. Hence as the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, University of Peradeniya, I am quite pleased that the collaborative programme that was launched with hSenid Software, USA by establishing a research laboratory at the Faculty, is now expanding and blossoming in a manner that has already surpassed our initial expectations.”

This gives the students an opportunity to gather insight and the relevant knowledge they need for the future. Since the programme is only on part time basis the students get hands on experience while they are studying.
