My favourite folk tale
One day, there lived Andare and Mrs. Andare. That day Andare came home late. The door was closed because Mrs. Andare was very angry. Then Andare knocked on the door. Andare said, "I'm going to jump into the well."
After that, Andare put a big stone into the well. It made a big noise. Then Andare hid behind a bush. So Mrs. Andare came out of the house, and said, "Please somebody help." Andare was very cunning. He slowly went to the home and locked the door.
This is my favourite folk tale.
I think you will like it.

Pig
I am a big fat pig,
Who likes to dig.
I always grunt and squeal,
And always gobble up
my meal.
My wife is a big sow,
Who always ties a big bow.
She'll roll in the mud and play,
But that's only in the month of May.
I have a mischievous
daughter,
Who's always afraid of
slaughter.
She is brown as she always plays in mud,
And she always brings home a rose bud.
I have two naughty sons,
Who only eat buns,
They have two toys,
Which look exactly like boys.

The best thing about being a Sri Lankan
The best thing about being a Sri Lankan is to be born in a beautiful country like Sri Lanka. Even in the past it was called the 'Pearl of the Indian Ocean.' It has attractive waterfalls. The hills are in the middle of Sri Lanka. 'Piduruthalagala' is the highest mountain in Sri Lanka. 'Adam's Peak' is a sacred hill. It is visited by people of all religions.
Villages in my country are full of life. Rural people protect our worthy culture. Various stages of farming are worth watching. During their work they sing 'Jana Kavi.'
We have traditional dances such as 'Udarata' and 'Pahatharata.' The drummers while beating on drums, dance and sing. How attractive they are! The majestic tuskers carry the sacred casket with relics. These peraheras are pageants of our culture.
Even the climate of our country varies to suit the people. In some parts we have a hot climate like in the north and some parts a warm climate like in the west. And in Nuwara Eliya a pleasing cool climate. Foreigners from Europe like to enjoy the warmth of our beaches as well as the cool climate of Nuwara Eliya.
So how happy I am to be born in Sri Lanka, my motherland, the beautiful Sri Lanka.
