The Janashakthi open squash championship came to an end yesterday with an impressive display between Chaturanga Rajapaksha of Stafford International and Anura Hewage of Trans Asia.

Chaturanga Rajapaksha staging a great come back managed to beat Akitha Gunasekara in the Under 19 Category and also made it to the finals of the men’s open category where the experienced Anura Hewage outwitted him 9/2, 1/9, 9/2, 9/0.

In the girl’s under 19 final Randima Ranaweera secured victory beating Sharya Guruge 9/4, 9/0, 9/2.

Assistant General Manager of Janashakthi Insurance, Graham Labrooy was the chief guest.

The next squash event to look forward to is the Amaya Hills Squash tournament which will commence on October 20 at the SSC.
