Seaways Group to operate vessel on Colombo route

Indian based shipping giant, Seaways Shipping Ltd, has deployed its container vessel MV KISSAMA of 582 TEUs capacity to operate between Colombo and the Bay of Bengal/East Coast of India Region, its local agent Prudential Shipping Lines (Pte) Ltd said. Seaways Group of India is well known to the industry and has been successfully operating its Feeder Services since 2005 on the East Coast of India and between India and Bangladesh.

The company recently extended its East coast service to connect Singapore and Malaysia which will enhance the tonnage deployed to meet the growing demand of the trade. “The inducement of MV Kissama in Colombo - EC India sector will immensely improve loadability and frequencies between India and Sri Lanka,” the local agent said.
