Opening our eyes to an unhealthy trend

Sqn. Ldr. J.T. Rex Fernando should be congratulated on his article on a current human resources problem -“Outsourcing Human Resources and Erosion of Worker Rights” in the Financial Times of September 30.

He has rightly attempted to emphasise the seriousness of the problem and set out the insidious ways in which multinational and even blue chip companies lay off their permanent staff and replace them with outsourced labour. This indeed is an unhealthy trend.
