CR and FC may host the rugby final

Sponsors Singer Sri Lanka has requested the finals of the Rugby Asiad to be staged at the CR&FC grounds. CEO Rugby Union Dilroy Fernando said that they would give due consideration to the matter.

The Council will decide the venue for the finals at its next meeting. On Friday October 19. The opening ceremony will be held on Nov. 3 at Longden Place . Sri Lanka will take on China in the opening game. On the same day Kazakhstan, will play with Chinese Taipei. Each participating nation will nominate a referee. It will be handled by the ARFU. The ARFU will also nominate a neutral referee. It was also decided to afford 100 tickets (free) to all rugby playing schools to witness the games. Strict security measures have been taken at the Airport, at Hotel Galadari and at the venues handled by SSP Hamid.
