Viduranga and Shamil in under nine final

SSC open Squash Champion Saduni Gunawardena from Vishaka Vidayalaya added another title against her name when she became the under 9 Girls champion at the Amaya Hills Squash tournament defeateding her sister Kasuni Gunawardena from the same school in the final at Tamil Union Squash courts yesterday.

Although they were sisters there was no quarter neither asked nor given as Kasuni took Saduni to four sets before conceding defeat. The final score line read 10-8,6-9,10-8 and 9-3. Saduni had to huff and puff to victory.

In the semi finals Saduni Gunawardena beat Shalina Peiris 9-0,9-0,9-1 while in the other semi final Kasuni Gunawardena received a walk over from M.Rajapaksa.K. Viduranga will meet M. Shamil in the boys under 9 final. The finals will be worked off at the Amaya Hills Kandy squash courts next Saturday.

In the semi finals K. Viduranga beat Navodya 9-0, 9-1,9-2 and in the other semi finals M. Shamil beat Malik 9-1,9-0,9-1.

In a boys under 13 clash Samarasinghe beat Malith 9-3, 9-1 and 9-3 to move into the next round while. Danwitha beat N.Fernando 9-0, 9-1, 9-0 in a boys under 11 match M. Shamil who is in the Under 9 finals received a walk over from Hapukumbura in a under 11 match
