OKTOBERFEST at Hilton

The annual transformation of the sports centre car park of the Hilton Colombo into the site of Sri Lanka's destination food and beverage festival is already underway as the countdown begins for the Oktoberfest. The Oktoberfest marquee will rise up over the asphalt to recreate a tradition begun nearly two centuries ago in Munich, Germany, to celebrate the zest for life, hearty food and great beer.

For the spirited and fashionable set, the Hilton Colombo Oktoberfest is a rare opportunity to have fun by doing something authentically traditional. A few suppliers of fine things are coming together once again to provide the Oktoberfest with a fine selection of sausages, meats, bakery items and craft beers.

The Oktoberfest also features loads of sausages and bakery items. The signature Weisswurst and Bratwurst sausages are prepared by a German butcher especially brought down for the event, and buttered sour dough, baked brazen with butter and apricot crumble are some of the classic favorites at the festival.

This renowned Oktoberfest is itself proof positive that some of life's simpler pleasures could well be both wholesome and invigorating. Food and beverage is plentiful, the music is for the whole family; and the games, uproarious and inclusive. The Hilton Colombo Oktoberfest takes place from October 26 through November 4.
