Hit-and-run case: Eyewitnesses wanted

A relative of a hit-and-run victim is appealing for eyewitnesses to come forward to help him bring the person responsible for the accident to justice.

Perakum Abeysekara of Borella says A.R. Densil Perera (52), a resident in Hokandara, died in an accident on September 25 at Koswatte junction while his three-wheeler (red and the vehicle number is 200-2628) collided with a bus while he was going towards Malabe between 8.45-9 a.m.

The driver was arrested but he managed to obtain bail. Mr. Abeysekera said he believed the driver’s version of the story was questionable and therefore he was appealing to civic-minded people who witnessed the accident to come forward and give evidence. Mr. Abeysekara is contactable on 0777 778787.
